How to Apply for an LSTA Grant

  1. Attend an LSTA Grant Writing Workshop. Click on "Workshops" in the column on the left for dates, times, and locations.

  2. Consult with the LSTA Grants Coordinator, Rose Frost, about your project ideas @ (801) 715-6742 or (800) 662-9150 ext. 742.

  3. Carefully review the "LSTA Competitive Grant Program: Information and Guidelines for Utah's Libraries for 2007/2008 ".

  4. Review the "LSTA Grant Writing: Plan to Plan" Power Point.

  5. Review the Power Point "Overview of the LSTA Competitive Grant Program" to understand the process.

  6. For additional information about "outcome based evaluation" (OBE) to measure the success of your project, review the "Outcomes: Libraries Change Lives" Power Point.

  7. Design your project with a minimum of one outcome.

  8. Comply with the General Requirements for All Competitive Grants.

  9. Comply with Special Requirements for Technology Grants, if applicable to your project.

  10. Comply with Special Requirements for Networked Information Grants for Digitization grants, if applicable to your project.

  11. Complete & submit one "Intent-to-apply form" by email by the required date to Rose Frost, Grants Coordinator at the State Library.

  12. Download and complete the Application form.

  13. Review the Application Checklist for filing instructions.

  14. Read the "LSTA Scoring Sheet" to see how your application will be evaluated.
