Checking Your Holds in the Utah State Library's Catalog

Once you place a hold for your patron, we will send an email telling you whether the request is checked out or on order for your patron.  If your patron wants to know the status of the book or is wondering why they have not received the book, here's how to check to see what position they are in.

1. In our Horizon catalog, click on the ACCOUNT tab then type in your access code.

2. Here you can see how many books are checked-out to you.  You can also view your holds. Click on HOLD REQUESTS to see which books you are still waiting for.

3. As you can see there are two books in position 1. When the book is returned your patron will be next. The title DA Vinci Code has a “4” beside it, which means that your patron is 4th in line to receive this title. When there are more than two holds on a title there is a 3 week check out and no renewals can be done.
