Goshen – School Library provides ebooks

Each student receives an individual log-in to access any “e-book” in the online library. Multiple students can log-on and read the same book at the same time, which means no more waiting for that popular book to be returned.

Summit County – Expands Bilingual Programs

he Summit County’s Library new Multicultural Services Librarian wants to hit the ground running when she begins her fulltime schedule in May. In particular she is planning to beef up the county library’s literacy programs for both children and adults.

Salt Lake City – Library Provides Homeless Services

In a new program introduced this month, the library will begin working with Salt Lake County Human Services, the Utah Department of Workforce Services and Salt Lake City police to direct patrons to social services including homeless shelters, mental health counseling or substance-abuse prevention programs.

Salt Lake City Library to filter Internet Access

The Salt Lake City Main Library and its five branches have long filtered Internet access to computers in its children’s sections. During a Thursday evening meeting of the library system’s board, members voted unanimously to extend those same filtering capabilities to its entire network of computers available for adult use.
