Discussion Lists / LISTSERVS

The Utah State Library has three Discussion Lists / LISTSERVS. Pick the one that fits your needs:

Utah Library Network (ULN) Discussion List

The Utah State Library has established a private "discussion list" for all public libraries as a means of fostering better communication between Utah's public libraries and between the Utah State Library and members of the Utah Library Network. The ULN "list" is open to Utah library personnel and Utah public library trustees and is a mailing or distribution list which enables a member to write one email message and "post" the message to every member of the list. Other members can then "post" answers in response, and a discussion takes place. For example, if you have a problem, ask a question and receive advice from other libraries.

Membership is open to Utah public library personnel and utah public library trustees.

To subscribe: Send an email message to list@list.utah.gov. The subject line should be blank and your message should read: subscribe ULN firstname lastname pw=password. The password is optional. If you DO NOT want a password, just leave out the pw=password part of the message.

An example with password: subscribe ULN John Doe pw=pink
An example without password: subscribe ULN John Doe

Once approved by the administrator, you will receive a welcome message which contains instructions for using the list.

Send messages via email using this address. Remember, messages go to ALL members: uln@list.utah.gov

To unsubscribe: Send a blank email to: leave-uln@list.utah.gov.

Utah Young Adult and Children's Services (UYAC) Discussion List

The purpose of the Utah Young Adult and Children's Services (UYAC) listserv is to create a stronger, collaborative network among those who regularly interact with youth in libraries. It also serves as a forum for discussion of pertinent and timely topics, which may includeprogramming ideas and performer recommendations; collection development and readers' advisory suggestions; community outreach and partnership efforts; grant opportunities; professional resources, trainings or conferences; and other relevant issues and trends.

To subscribe: Send an email message to list@list.utah.gov. The subject line should be blank and your message should read: subscribe UYAC firstname lastname. Once approved by the administrator, you will receive a welcome message which contains instructions for using the list.

To unsubscribe: Send a blank e-mail to: leave-uyac@list.utah.gov.
