Laura Jones Berube was graduated from the University of North Texas with an M.L.S. in 1995. After her first job as an adult services librarian in Abilene, Texas, she discovered her true calling as a children's librarian and moved to Utah to work in the Sandy Library where she has been since 1998. Now, as a member of the Utah Kids Ready to Read! Steering Committee she is helping the bring the principles of emergent literacy to libraries all over Utah, as well as continuing her regular duties of storytime, collection development and children's reference for the Sandy Library.

Jennifer Fay is a youth services librarian at the Riverton Branch of Salt Lake County Library Services. She is the chair of the county's Emergent Literacy Task Force, which train librarians to present pre-literacy storytimes and parent/caregiver workshops. She received an MLS from Southern Connecticut State University in 2002. Before becoming a librarian, Jennifer taught preschool and Kindergarten at an accelerated private school.

Stephanie Goodliffe is the Literacy Coordinator and a branch assistant manager at the Salt Lake City Public Library. Previously, she has been a children's librarian and a kindergarten teacher. In addition, she has a master's degree in education, specializing in literacy, and has worked on reading software development.

Adriane Juarez is an assistant branch manager for the Salt Lake City Public Library where she specializes in services for children. She has been an active member of the City Library's Children's Services Committee and the Utah Library Association Children's Round Table. As an instructor of Information Resources Programs for Children for Emporia State University, she is passionate about sharing the significance of children's librarianship with graduate students.

Carla Morris was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. She holds a BA in Humanities from BYU, and an MLS from BYU. Carla was the first reference librarian at Provo City Library from 1979 1990. She was hired as the Children's Services Manager in 1991. Carla served on the Caldecott 2004 Committee. She is the author of "The Boy Who Was Raised By Librarians," illustrated by Brad Sneed, published by Peachtree Press, due out in January 2007. Carla and her husband Steve are the parents of three children. They currently reside in Springville.

Susan Spicer received her MLS from Emporia State University in 2001. She is currently a Youth Services Librarian at the Salt Lake County Library System's West Jordan Branch, where she can't believe she gets paid for doing her weekly, Be a Bookworm Storytimes, and buying good books for kids. Her passions include the Utah Kids Ready to Road Committee, teen fiction, and her favorite pair of red cowboy boots.

Susan Hamada is an Associate Director for the Salt Lake County Library System. She works with Branches, Circulation, Programming and Outreach. Previously, Susan worked as a Branch Manager at West Valley, Bingham Creek and Sandy libraries. She has also worked in libraries in Alaska and Iowa. She is a ULA Past-President.

Gene Nelson is Director of the Provo City Library, where he was responsible for planning and building the Library at Academy Square. His library experience includes four and one-half years in elementary and middle school libraries, seven years in community college libraries, and twelve years in public libraries. His commitment to library services to children is strong. He has taught college and university-level children's literature courses for about eighteen years. He served on the 2000 Caldecott Committee.
