REGIONAL WORKSHOPS

The Utah Kids Ready To Read! Steering Committee is taking the message of emergent literacy on the road, presenting workshops in public libraries around the state. The Utah Kids! Steering Committee has planned and presented regional workshops that can be conveniently attended by librarians, library board members, and community child-care givers living and working in every county in the state. The three-hour workshops, which are free to participants, are intended to inform and train librarians and library staff about emergent literacy philosophy and techniques so that they, in turn, can then teach parents and other caregivers the skills to help their children learn to read.
