As we approach the U.S. Semiquincentennial on July 4, 2026, the Utah State Library is inviting everyone to dive into the stories that shaped our nation. If you’re a fan of historical fiction, deep-dive biographies, or simply love a good book club discussion, the America250 Book Buzz collection is your perfect starting point.
What is Book Buzz?

The America250 Collection
To honor the 250th anniversary of the United States, we’ve curated a special selection of titles that explore the American experience from the Precolonial era to the Revolutionary War and beyond.
Featured titles in the collection include:
- “1776” by David McCullough: A classic deep dive into the pivotal year of the Revolution.
- “Founding Mothers” by Cokie Roberts: An essential look at the women who helped build the nation.
- “The Radium Girls” by Kate More: Poisoned by luminous watch paint, the Radium Girls sued their employers and won groundbreaking workplace safety reforms.
