Congratulations to North Logan Library for earning the Quality Library Award for 2024. The Quality Library Award is presented to Utah libraries that go above and beyond.
The North Logan Library is a valuable community resource that benefits residents with its popular programs and story times. “We’re currently building an addition to our library to help expand our program abilities,” explains Library Director Trenton Bateman.
Library programs range from their Robotics Club where children ages eight to twelve learn about robotics, to adult programs like the indoor seeding class and senior computer assistance. A quick glance at their website shows the full breadth of library programs available to North Logan library patrons. “I am most proud of our programs,” says Bateman. “All of our employees do such a great job creating wonderful activities for our community.”
The library also offers a Makerspace area, where they provide free access to technology like 3D printing and digitization. Patrons can convert documents, film, and VHS tapes to digital formats. Patrons can also check out fun things like GoPros, a snowcone machine, and video games and consoles, as well.
“The North Logan City Library is loved and utilized by the community,” says State Librarian Cara Rothman. “It truly is a valued treasure that is evolving to meet the needs of patrons of all ages. Recent space reorganization and the future addition are exciting ways the library continues to be a community asset.”
Director Trenton Batement is excited to share the Quality Library Award with staff. “This is something I can share with our employees and show them how their effort makes a difference,” he says.
