Summit County Library – Quality Library 2024

We are thrilled to announce that Summit County Library has been awarded the 2024 Quality Library Award, a prestigious honor that recognizes outstanding dedication and service in Utah’s libraries. This award is a testament to the hard work and innovation of Library Director Daniel Compton and his entire staff.

Summit County Library has gone above and beyond to expand access for every resident. They offer services through their branches in Kimball Junction, Kamas Valley, and Coalville. “We have holds lockers in Henefer, Kamas, and Kimball Junction that are open 24/7,” shares Director Compton. “We also have our Open+ system, which allows the Coalville Branch to be open an extra 22 hours per week without staff on-site. To reach patrons who are homebound, we operate our own bookmobile.”

Compton is most proud of his dedicated team, who “do a lot with limited resources.” He wants the community to know that the library constantly strives to “go above and beyond to provide the best library services and resources we can.”

“The Summit County Library is a cheerful place with a creative staff. They offer some of the most innovative library services in the state to increase access for their patrons. I can’t wait to see what they think of next,” says Library Development Program Manager Merrily Cannon.

We will be announcing our 2025 Utah Quality Library for winners soon. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for the big announcement.
