Provides Utah Residents With Free Access To Government Documents
The Utah State Library Division maintains a collection of publications created by Utah state government agencies, boards, commissions and other government entities. Subsidized by public funds, these publications are are meant to be widely available to the citizens of Utah.
The Utah State Library is the central depository of all official state digital and print publications.

Legal Authority
Access to State Publications. The Utah Government Digital Library (UGDL) was created per H.B. 41 (2006). The UGDL provides the public with permanent access to Utah government publications that exist in digital formats.
Deposit of State Publications. The Utah State Library is responsible for the permanent access, distribution, and exchange of state publications. The collection is being built by submissions from contributory agencies under the authority of Utah Code Ann. § 9-7-201 to 9-7-209. Agencies are required to submit electronic copies to the UGDL and submit at least two copies of physical format publications.
The Utah Government Digital Library (UGDL) provides Utahns with easy to use and permanent access to born digital and digitized print publications created by State of Utah agencies as well as those of some counties and cities.
The UGDL exists to provide you with access to all of these state publications in one place. UGDL is an easy-to-use resource for the general public, state agencies, legislators, and library visitors throughout the state for finding and accessing Utah government produced information. It also provide a means for government agencies to deposit their publications with the Utah State Library as required by law.
Print publications are available for in-library use at the Utah State Library, 250 North, 1950 West, Suite A, Salt Lake City, UT 84116-7901, Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
Many of our print publications have been digitized and can be downloaded in the Utah Government Digital Library.
